Sacraments

Sacraments are visible things that point to unseen, holy things. We recognize two sacraments in the UCC: Baptism and the Sacrament of Holy Communion (also know as Eucharist or the Lord’s Supper in other traditions).

It is through the waters of Baptism that we are joined to the whole church. The tradition at Boehm’s Church has been to practice infant Baptism, though we recognize and honor the tradition of believer’s or adult baptism. We also believe in one baptism, regardless of the Christian tradition from you may come.

We celebrate communion once a month. It is through the bread and cup of communion that we are reminded of our salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ Jesus. Children and adults are welcome to take bread and cup during communion, though we honor the practices of family and other traditions. The Pastor is happy to bless children when asked.

Confirmation, though not a sacrament, offers younger teens and others an opportunity to affirm their baptism.
